Sayga wins the Arabia CSR Award “Best Project” 2010

 

 


On 28th October Sayga was recognized by the Arabia CSR Network (hosted by the Emirates Environmental Group) during the Award Ceremony of the Arabia CSR Awards 2010 held in Dubai.

Sayga has received the “Best Project” CSR Award!

“DOING WELL BY DOING GOOD”

“This 3rd Cycle of the Arabia CSR Awards, witnessed 62 companies across the Arab world competing for the Awards, which would make them stand out as trailblazers in the field of CSR. This year, the Awards have been very special as there have been applications from 12 Arab countries – a feat never accomplished before! Applications from countries such as Palestine, Sudan and Yemen prove the commitment of the region towards business excellence in sustainability.”

Aims & Objectives of the Arabia CSR Awards are:

  1. To recognize and honor organizations in the Arab region that demonstrates outstanding leadership and commitment to corporate sustainability
  2. To commend international organizations that are actively pursuing corporate sustainability in the Arab region
  3. To promote CSR as an essential element of a successful business model in the Arab region
  4. To create a database of CSR best practice case studies from around the region

“Together in supporting our community “


On Wednesday 1st of September 2010, tens of Sayga Staff stood together side by side to participate in The Joy of Eid annual initiative to draw a smile on the faces of those who are in need. It was a day of joy and boosted spirits for everyone present.

The initiative targeted underprivileged sectors such as Maygoma Home for Orphans, The Radio Isotope Hospital - Children Cancer Section,Omdurman Women Prison and the Shesher Home for Disabled Children .The caravans also reached homes of individual orphan families as well as victims of the heavy rains and floods in Southern Tokar and Om Ruwaba .

The outreach was in the forms of hundreds of gift bags to the orphans and disabled children consisting of new outfits, toys and sweets. In addition, thousands of Al-Awwal, Makhsous and Zadna Flour packs has been donated by Sayga. Also, the donation involved distribution of key medicines to patients suffering from severe cases around Khartoum.

What is truly remarkable about this initiative is that Sayga’s family has not only contributed financially but also with their spirit and effort. It is really a source of pride for everyone who has participated & witnessed this great initiative.

ZADNA Consumer Launch Event on April 17th 2009

Zadna Sorghum Flour Launch not only showcased the largest and most diversified culture event in  country,  but  also unveiled Sayga’s new traditional food solutions brand that reflects the traditional food culture of  Sudan. It also demonstrated a production breakthrough in the milling industry worldwide and Sudan specifically.

Zadna Consumer launch took place in Al Mariekh Stadium in Omdurman with an estimated 40,000 spectators!

ZADNA is a name stemming from ‘zad’ which means food and is an embodiment of everything traditional. Sorghum is considered the staple food for many of the peoples of Sudan. Zadna’s launch took place in a huge cultural festival presenting  Sudanese culture from the different parts of Sudan. Sowing practices were reflected in forms of folklore dances, poetry, songs and different forms of art and huge fireworks show.

Zadna’s launch reflected the richness of Sudan’s heritage and culture, the beauty and richness of diversity that should be preserved. It was a great example of how can the launch of a product be turned into a symbol of unity and peace.

 

 

 
Agents Ramadan Iftar PDF Print E-mail

On Wednesday 25th August,  Sayga organized its 2010 Annual Agents Iftar gathering at Qairawan Tourist Resort. The function included   musical intervals from Ali Ibrahim Allahaw  as well as intervals from Terab Al Comedia Group. Sayga also organized another Iftar on Thursday, 26th August for the Sweets/Pastry and Biscuit Factories Industry at Burj AL Fateh Hotel, attended by a large representation from Sayga’s leaders and employees. A great show was given by Albalimbo group and Terab Al Comedia. At the end of both gatherings, Gold Pounds and Alloys, JVC electronics and tickets for the Food Festival in Dubai were all part of the prizes given away as a token of appreciation for the agents and their invaluable role in the company’s success.
