In this initiative which started in 2009, Sayga represented by Al-Awal Flour Brand (which means The First) promotes and rewards excellence by recognizing the 1st student in each of the fields of the Sudanese Secondary school Certificate (Academic, Commercial, Agricultural, Industrial, Women specific studies)

The objectives behind this initiatives are:

• Reward the students’ effort & achievement
• Exposure to different culture
• Strengthen English language command
• Increase Self-confidence

Al-Awal Initiative involves:

• An elegant Award celebration event where family, academia, government officials and community members are invited.
• Sayga organizes & sponsors a 1 Month trip to the United Kingdom to attend intensive English Courses at Anglo-Continental School of English in Bournemouth. Also includes visits to historical sites and tourist attractions.
• Arranges Travel & accommodation of each student with a hosting British family.
• Provides Internship opportunities within the organization.
• A  Sayga medal & Laptop gift.
